158 blocks, now- I give up on counting colors. :) - PurpleBlockAdditionFlatWRainbow

My wing-it version of the amazing Kinderkram castle blocks. The blade in my bandsaw couldn't handle the arcs in the castle on the real set (the red arc is all that's left of my first attempt), so I made a set of doors and a flat piece (behind the doors) that's sort of a drawbridge. I may go back and re-drill the "wheel" (well) if I get a larger diameter forstner bit. Not sure I'll attempt the people- the kids don't seem to miss them. Will be easy to add onto this set as we go- they all have similar dimensions, so they stack nicely. I chose to give them a pretty minimal finish (one coat of watered down acrylic, super fine sanding, and a beeswax/oil finish) so they match the rainbow stacker- and I figure it wasn't worth it to fight the knotty/bumpy/grainy/ nature of the uber cheap 2x6 "dimensional lumber" with a more polished finish. Bonus? The damage that's sure to come, is already disguised. ;) www.28feet.com/2012/12/12/the-blocks/ - RainbowBlocks All (First Addition)
The whole set- have plans to double this set in the coming months, though. :) So far 53 blocks, 20 colors www.28feet.com/2012/12/12/the-blocks/ - RainbowBlocks First Addition
Added some blocks and colors to the original set. www.28feet.com/2012/12/12/the-blocks/ - RainbowBlocksFlat

The second addition- mostly variations on cubes, some flat pieces (that have been a big hit- need to make more), and angles. All new colors. www.28feet.com/2012/12/12/the-blocks/ - RainbowBlocksSecondAdditionPileUp
Up to 72 blocks with the second small addition, 30 colors. www.28feet.com/2012/12/12/the-blocks/ - RainbowEverythingPlay
Making a bridge and "surfboards" for her little animals with some of the newest pieces and a corral made of the rainbow stacker. www.28feet.com/2012/12/12/the-blocks/
